I have been a Ladysmith resident since January 2020 when I moved to the Island following a job offer. When my husband Grant and I were looking for the ideal place to live, we visited Ladysmith in November 2019 and it just so happened to be Light up Ladysmith. We knew this was where we wanted to be, as the community feel was so evident and was what we had experienced in Alberta, where we had lived for 15 years.

For many years I have dreamt of running a coffee shop but never found the right time or, more importantly, the right location. But then I met Dina, the owner of Ironworks Cafe and Creperie here in Ladysmith. An opportunity to buy this local, popular creperie was too good to pass up. And so, Beans and Banter was born.

My goal is to provide the same great service, coffee and crepes that Ironworks is known for. Who doesn’t love a crepe, whether it is sweet or savoury… as I know only too well as a customer of Ironworks in both Ladysmith and Duncan since I moved here.

I am so looking forward to meeting you should you decide to pop by for a coffee, a crepe or both…..and if you want to have a banter, I am all ears!
